SF19-6: The Countdown (2019 version)

Our gracious host Iron Tom Sharpe has furnished us with the full Sausagefest 2019 countdown! Gaze at the majesty below. A few brief notes first:

1. “Kiss Me Deadly” by Lita Ford was blamed on Uncle Meat, who definitely took a verbal bruising for that song appearing so high at #22.  Meanwhile I took flak for Greta Van Fleet.

2. I am pleased any time Kiss makes the list.  “She” was so awesome to groove (shirtless) to on the Friday night.

  1. “The Rain Song” is a nice inclusion. Probably good with all the beer. My favorite version is the one on the original mix of The Song Remains the Same soundtrack. “No Quarter” is the best on that live album too.

    “Highway Tune” is an interesting inclusion. Probably good with all the beer. My favorite version is the one on Physical Graffiti when it was called “The Rover”.

    Needs more Devo and more Yes. “It’s a Beautiful World”.

    1. Harrison is the greatest man I’ve never met. This list is great, but it doesn’t account for even a fraction of the greatness instilled in one cell of Harrison’s body.

      1. Thank you kind sir, truly. However, for the sake of appearing humble, I must confess that I thought myself potentially quite rude for singling out three songs and ignoring the rest of the (mostly) valid songs included just because they didn’t exactly meet my tastes

        3. I don’t do much “getting down” but I do enjoy Easy Lover, and Over the Mountain, I just forgot about them, and a couple others. I was just naming my favourites earlier

        8. Beautiful World is my favorite Devo song. Almost sounds like Grace Under Pressure era Rush, but still different and way before GUP Rush. It’s so subversive and cynical, yet catchy as hell.
