A LeBrain Train Retrospective

The LeBrain Train: 2000 Words or More with Mike Ladano

Episode 81 – A Retrospective

When you put as much into something as I have with this show, you eventually need a break.  I said I would keep doing this every week so long as Covid is keeping people stuck at home with nothing to do on a Friday night.  I think I’ve done that.  While not 100% of us are back to situation normal, it’s clear that most of us have had other things to do on the weekends.  And that’s awesome.

Given that the landscape has changed, and I’ve been at this for 18 solid months, changes are coming.  This show is to honour the past and look to the future.

Tonight, Harrison and I shall discuss our Nigel Tufnel Top Ten LeBrain Train Episodes of all time.  We’ll also run down the show’s history from its debut on March 20, 2020 to the present.  The fun, the ambition, the setbacks, the wins, the losses, and the memorable.  And what is to come!  We have something very, very cool planned.  You have Darr Erickson to thank.

I’ll be back September 24 with Superdekes to talk to Greg Fraser of Storm Force.  And we’ll be back again and again, any time a bunch of us want to talk about music on a Friday night.

As Ozzy would say, “Thank you, goodnight, I love you all.”

And you know about Ozzy and farewells.

  1. Darr is very much the man, as you’ll all find out soon. This show took on a whole new meaning after his contribution. It’s quite the privilege to co-host this show, and I do not intend to disappoint.

The picture is a little cut off in order to fit it into the right aspect ratio though. You’ll probably get to see the full thing tonight. And apologies to the two individuals who unfortunately were rendered in plastic form looking a little older than they actually are.

And, time permitting, there’ll be a couple little extra things to touch on.

  2. Ah, now I understand better. Mike, I (well, we) can’t thank you enough for putting this together and giving us a place to talk about what we like best: the tunes. Your show has provided a real connection, that Community we need. Of course I want to see it keep going, nd I’ll chip in when I can, but I understand the need for a break. I always say Hiatuses Are For Chumps, so we’ll call this a well-earned rest. See you back on there when you feel like it. Thanks again!

    1. To me personally, the greatest thing the Lebrain Train did is give us a way to connect with each other like never before. Just being able to hang out with the guys for a couple hours every so often has just been such an awesome thing to be able to do.

    2. Thanks man. Yes a hiatus is coming, but I have something planned, and we will be revealing it tonight. And yes it was Darr’s idea and we will be thanking Darr. I hope you can watch, this will be such fun tonight.

        1. If not I’ll fill you in later so as not to spoil any potential surprises.

I also discovered Tee Bone was up all night tweaking his videos. So now I already have a remix, of a new song you haven’t heard yet!

        2. Awesome thanks! Tee Bone’s hlarious, man. You know, you oughta make an album on cd-r of all the songs from him, max, whatever else was related to the show. Start with the theme song. That’d be awesome.

  3. Sad to see it end its weekly run, but man what a run it has been. I can’t thank you enough for giving us this each week and for letting me check off a bucket list item by interviewing a rock star and one of my favorite all time singers with Paul Laine!! What a blast that was.

  4. Love the word Community as Aaron puts it. It really does feel like that. Honoured to be a allowed to be a small part of it. I needed it, especially during the pandemic. Darkness was creeping in and LeBrain Train was a big part of the therapy for me. It gave me something to throw myself into and distract me from anxiety and stress that were somewhat out of my control. For once I’m not trying to get a laugh, but rather being heartfelt and serious. Thank you to the LeBrain Train and it’s “Community”.
