MuchMusic ran this Sandbox special shortly after the band announced their sad demise at the end of the 1990s. Since every cloud has its silver lining, we can be glad that guitarist Mike Smith found greater success as Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys. This collection of interviews and live clips was run on the MuchEast program as “The Sandbox Wake”.
This memorial covers the band’s early days, writing terrible songs, improving, eventually getting signed and then onwards to the second LP. The clips cover 1995-1997. Graceland, The Junos, the East Coast Music Awards, concert footage…it’s here in this motherlode of Sandbox on MuchEast.
Sandbox: Jason Archibald, Mike Smith, Paul Murray, Scott MacFarlane, Troy Shanks.
Man what a cool thing. I’m gonna come back and watch the whole thing when I have a half hour to give it!

Enjoy, man! I watched it while editing, and it really brought me back to the mid-90s. I do think this band should have been bigger, but they didn’t have rock star egos.

Shame that ego is what makes bigger stars. The music is what matters, and Sandbox definitely had it.

I will check this out later. I am actually in the office today working all day for the first time in 19 months. And it sucks. Why do I have to wear shoes, I haven’t worn shoes sitting at my desk for a long, long time.

It’s mindblowing to me that here we are 19 months later. Seems like yesterday that I was telling you and J that I didn’t want to work from home. And now you’re back in the office.
We all survived thank God and I am grateful that I didn’t have to work from home! All the people here who decided to work from home are still working from home by their choice and that is great.

I was only in for the day and will probably only being 1 or 2 days a week for the remainder of the year. We will see come January. I really don’t want to do more than 2 days…that is plenty.

Oh and I left a KISS Easter Egg in there for ya at the 25 minute mark. Kiss in 1999. Hmmm, what could that have been?

I think you need to buy it! After all Kiss are actually in it! So is Shannon Tweed! Some good actors too like Joe Flaherty and Eddie Furlong.

Probably so and if Shannon is in it, sold!! LOL!

Nice comedic scene with Furlong. Sort of one of those childhood fantasies!
