A wise man once said, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” This week’s box of chocolates includes some sweet surprise guests! Jex Russell co-hosted, and harpist Grace Scheele dropped by for a bit to talk about her cassette tape Landings. The end result is one of my favourite shows! Top ten?
Max the Axe’s garage sale scores were the main focus of the show, with a second on cottage stories and musical memories. We told the previously unrevealed tale of Max’s carbon monoxide detector collection. We tributed the man himself with song after song, going over two hours!
Best of all: a first. A chipmunk visiting the show, captured on camera, live. Twice.
Life is like a box of chocolates indeed! I say, eat on.

Episode 19: Back to Basics Friday
I must apologize for the suddenly cancelled show last week. A lot of stuff went down about 30 minutes before showtime, and I was occupied with another priority.
Today I need to take it easy, so we’re going back to basics. My first solo show in years. I want to do it in the afternoon, not evening, so it’ll be 3:00 PM E.S.T.
I’ll be reading from Tim Durling’s book Unspooled. I have my treasures from Max the Axe’s garage sale to show. We have a demo of the Kenwood tape deck featuring the music of Grace Scheele. I’ll be unboxing new discs, and otherwise just winging it! Hope to see some of you then. I know it’s not an ideal time, but I don’t want to be broadcasting live during sunset! So afternoon it is.

Episode 19: METALLICA
There’s this band called Metallica that’s pretty big right now. Why not talk about them for an hour?
I have a lot of Metallica – box sets, singles, etc. Not even close to a complete collection, but more than the average cat has. So let’s see it! Tonight you will definitely see the Black box set, in detail. Time permitting, I’ll crack the seal on my Master of Puppets box too. As for Tim and Kevin? You never know what they will bring to the table, but I anticipate the new album 72 Seasons will be seen, and possibly the cassettes and vinyl.
Yea-hah! Find out tonight! ‘Tallica loves you baby!

First cottage show is done for the record books!
Two surprise guests made this nice extra special: John T. Snow of 2Loud2OldMusic, and my wife Jen! Together with Harrison, Kevin and Rob, we looked at:
Thanks for watching everyone!

Episode 18: New Arrivals (and some books)
It’s finally that time. First cottage show of the year! We have been looking forward to this since November.
This week, we plan on looking at some new musical arrivals with Harrison, Rob Daniels and Kevin “Canadian Grooves” Simister. I’ll have some books to go over, and of course, we have “Ask Harrison” with a question from the California Girl.
Notes: This being the first cottage show of the season, please allow for —
But the show must go on, and we hope it will! Please allow for any difficulties that a cottage show in April may cause, especially the first one. Who knows if the internet will work in the weather we are expecting. If all goes well, see you then!

Tonight I will be LIVE on Grant’s Rock Warehaus to discuss a forgotten 90s supergroup: the Neurotic Outsiders!
The 90s were a weird time. For all intents and purposes, one of the biggest bands in the world was gone: Guns N’ Roses. We had to settle for solo albums from Duff, Slash, Gilby and Izzy.
Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan teamed up with Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols, and John Taylor from Duran Duran, to form the punky supergroup Neurotic Outsiders. They made one album. One and done! But what an album it was. We’ll be discussing all this and more tonight on Grant’s Rock Warehaus!
7:00 PM EST

I just want to send all my support and love to California Girl today as she completes her marathon that she has spent months preparing for! I know she was nervous and I’m hoping today goes as brilliant as possible for her. I got your back California Girl! (No, she’s not running in the silver boots, unfortunately!)
It was a delight and a privilege to be able to spend my Good Friday with Jex’s Vinyl World and MarriedAndHeels this year! Spring has sprung and this is what we brought you for your Easter weekend:
Thank you Jex and California Girl for a wonderful Good Friday loaded with friendship, stories and fun.

Episode 17: Rocking Good Friday
All apologies! There haven’t been too many live shows this brutal winter. However, the California Girl known as MarriedAndHeels has been a consistent ray of sunshine this season and she’s back to co-host this Good Friday special! This is, in fact, her fifth appearance on the show in 2023!
She doesn’t have to do this…she gets far more views and interaction on her own without me. I cannot express how flattered I am that she actually wants to do our little show with us.
Joining us will be Jex Russell from Jex’s Vinyl World. Together, we plan on tackling the following subjects:
Friday Apr 7 at 3:00 P.M. E.S.T. / 4:00 P.M. Atlantic, & 12:00 Noon Pacific. Enjoy on YouTube or on Facebook!
I like updating the intro video every couple of shows to include everyone who has been on. This version features a brand new face: John T. Snow’s cat (licensing pending)! It also has more Jex, more MarriedAndHeels, and more dynamics.
No show tonight; as the Covid Chronicles have expressed, I’m tired! But we’ll be back April 7 with Jex Russell and MarriedAndHeels!
