RECORD STORE TALES Part 312.5:  Coming to a Close – Poll Results

A few days ago I made the announcement that I will be drawing the Record Store Tales to a close soon.   It was inevitable that eventually I’d run out of good stories to tell. However I like to write so much more than just album reviews. When the Record Store Tales are concluded with the proper ending, I want to continue the storytelling. Music and retail will remain the main focus, it’ll just be from the other side of the counter.

I asked you for your suggestions for a new title for these “Post-Record Store Tales” (for which I have already been coming up with cool shit). And boy, did you deliver! Inundated with great suggestions, the problem became choosing just one.

So, I chose more than one.

Yes, a name has been selected for the “Post-Record Store Tales”, and it is an amalgam of multiple submissions. I hope you like it. I’ll reveal it when the new saga of stories begins. Until then, hang on tight. I’m currently finishing up the last few Record Store Tales, before the epic ending which will be a multi-part series. Wanna know how it all ends? Check back soon.

Cheers,
LeBrain

    1. Yeah, well. Let’s hope I don’t blow it with a dud of an ending eh?

BTW got a new blu-ray player and I’m good to go with movies again. HOPING to complete a review of the new Trailer Park Boys now.

        1. Just a mid-grade Samsung. Not the cheapest one they had and not the most tricked out either. Plugged it in, hooked it up and threw on the Trailer Park Boys DVD to see that it works! Unfortunately the area behind my TV is a gigantic mess of cords.

        2. Price please, if you don’t mind my asking…

Ah, the rat’s nest. My husband creates one behind every TV too. Drives me mad. I’ve tried to tame them with cable ties – that seems to work somewhat.

        3. $100. I didn’t want to spend more than that, so I just kind of found the best one in my price range. So this thing is wi-fi enabled from the factory, when my 4 year old $250 Panasonic was not. And it’s a quarter the size.

        4. Okay, I got it: You connect it to your TV with HDMI, then through the player, access the wifi network to have access to the internet, netflix, etc. I was thinking too far into the future, I think lol.

        5. Yeah and I think we will try Netflix for a bit. We’ll see. Busy TV seasons are starting…she’s got hockey and a bunch of reality shows imminently, and I have a new season of American Dad and Big Bang Theory.

        6. I need to catch up on BBT – I think I am a season behind. With K working evenings, we only get in watching together on weekends. Right now watching the X-Files (still, since January). SOA, and Dr. Who will be starting soon too. Mad Men also needs to be binge watched.

        7. I catch Dr. Who when I can, and I’m looking forward to Peter Capaldi, big time.

I’m going to re-watch Breaking Bad real soon. That will be an epic review.

        8. I am in love with that show…
A friend of mine is in New Mexico right now (from Guelph). She took a pic of herself at the place where Los Hermanos Pollos was filmed. It isn’t called that in real life, but they kept the decal of the BB restaurant on its wall as a souvenier. So cool.

        9. I would love to walk into that place and take a picture of Jen and I having lunch where Walt used to meet Gustavo Fring, same table. I’d shave my head again for effect and wear my BB shirt.

        10. That would be amazing! New Mexico is a cool state -especially the alien connection which is right up my alley. Never been though. I just live vicariously through my friend Teresa who has been there dozens of times.
