Sunday Chuckle: Aliens

My dad really likes Giorgio Tsoukalos — you know the guy? The dude with the crazy hair from Ancient Aliens who always has the same conclusion: “Could it be…aliens?”

I try to get my dad to be a little more skeptical and use his critical thinking skills when it comes to that show. After all, not everything is just explained by saying “aliens”. Dad argued back that “Giorgio Tsoukalos is an expert and knows what he’s talking about!” So I Googled him to see if that’s true. From Wikipedia’s sourced article:

Tsoukalos is a 1998 graduate of Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, with a bachelor’s degree in sports information and communication. For several years he worked as a bodybuilding promoter and a volunteer in IFBB sanctioned bodybuilding contests, including Mr. Olympia. He produced and directed the annual San Francisco Pro Grand Prix in years 2001-2005.

Sorry dad!  You lose this time.

  1. I think you are not understanding that athletes are aliens and therefore communicating with them is the finest training for communicating with aliens. I am with your dad on this as me and my son are fascinated by George and his crazy hair having watched every episode of Ancient Aliens, some even twice and you have to admit it could be aliens, lets not just rule it out.

  2. That guy is an idiot, and it’s shameful that the so-called “History Channel” gave him a platform. I’ve had students coming into my classes parroting his ridiculous crap and I basically have to deprogram them.

  3. Mike. Go easy on dad. It’s true. Giorgio only has a bachelors in communications but that’s about all you need to do what he does. It’s also true that he has overseen a couple of body building events. Everyone needs a first job and a little time to figure things out. And there are not many choices in education for studying extra terrestrial activities. The rest of his expertise in my opinion comes from the open mindedness when processing the evidence left behind by both man and visitors in carvings, drawings and artifacts. I wasn’t a believer at first but then I asked myself How else can you explain the limitations of man 2000-10000 years ago and the obvious fact that man needed and has received help from visitors even up to recent times. My suggestions: Keep talking to him about the subject. Keep picking his brain. Let him give his theories. I love it when my kids have questions. Especially how it ties in to religion. Thank you for loving your dad.
