The things I’m finding that I never knew I had!
This tape, from November of 1992, contains a Guns N’ Roses concert called Live in Paris. You remember that one? With Soundgarden, Lenny Kravitz, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry? I set the VCR to record it in the middle of the night, so I captured all the commercials as well. First one: Tom Green and his old rap group, Organized Rhyme, selling pizza on late night TV!
The only other copy of this on Youtube is in black and white. Not sure why that would be, so here you go, Tom Green fans!
I sort of hope those who made that ad now look back and realize how silly they looked. Maybe it’s my old age.

Well I tweeted this to Tom Green so he can easily see how silly he looked! That was the 90s man…a lot of people think the 90s were just grunge. Uh-uh man. It was loud colours and neon stuff and this!

I’m kind of glad that all passed me by in the 90s

Wow.
I remember that Paris gig. Had the VCR and cassette. Lenny and Slash playing Always On The Run was the highlight.

Wow. All those gawdy colors and cheap graphics instantly take me back to my younger days. Thanks for posting this one, it’s triggering some really old memories of being a kid, or at least evoking that feeling. The ’90s were weird, and so were the early 2000s. As soon as HD and smartphones came about it seems like the world became way too homogenized and normal. Feels like western culture has been stagnant since about 2009. I blame Chris Nolan. The arts and media has to be gritty and real now, no room for experimentation or creativity, at least not in the mainstream.

I’m not sure if it will show up in your VHS archives – but I remember seeing a dude in the mid-90s that taped himself to a lamppost, protesting Monika Deol leaving much music.
It was only years later, I realized it was Tom Green – and years after that, realizing he’d been in that CHeck the O.R. group!
