So, yes: That means this weekend there were three hours of Tim and I yammering about music! But apparently they were a good three hours according to viewer feedback. Here’s the “Aftermath” show that we did at 7:30 AM on a Sunday! Loads of fun — I love mornings!
This morning I had a blast taping this episode of Tim’s Vinyl Confessions! Together we showed off some of our rarest CDs. That’s part of the pleasure of being a collector: sharing our treasure with you!
Thanks for having me Tim! Enjoy this awesome two-hour extravaganza of digital rarities!
For your convenience and enjoyment, here is an isolated video of the moment we surprised Aaron with the new Tee Bone Erickson music video “Community”. I will remember this night always.
The secret is out! This show was a month in planning. We have been wanting to do a tribute to AARON from the KMA for some time now, due to his passion for Community. And tonight we finally did it, surprising him with a blindside like no other!
For the last month, Tee Bone has been secretly toiling away on his new magnum opus, like a Mr. Holland gone mad, with late nights and early mornings.
Now we can reveal the truth: the Community that Aaron nurtured has repaid him in song. The new track “Community” features our contributions and our tributes to the man. The very first duet with Tee Bone and Meat together, and the first vocal contributions from LeBrain and Geoff Stephen in a Tee Bone song! And we got to spring the surprise on him live! His reactions are on video for you to see yourself.
We had a full house tonight with Harrison, Kevin, Sarah, Geoff, Meat, John Snow and Tee Bone all in the house with James and Aaron! A first!
Key points:
Interview with Aaron and James begins at 15:30.
The surprise is sprung at 46:30, followed by the debut of the “Community” music video.
If you were able to watch live, thank you for helping making Aaron’s party something truly special!
You will be able to buy “Community” on Bandcamp next week. Wahoo!!
If you are reading this, then you are a part of the community! The Keeps Me Alive guys were here first, rocking us since 2006 with their passion for music. James is the “concerts guy” where reviews are concerned, and this is his very first time going live with us. Harrison will be grilling James on just why he wanted me to eat a worm and a stick for $7. Meanwhile, I’ll be asking about beginnings. Why did these two guys decide to start writing about music anyway? And what’s the secret to their longevity?
This show has been a long time coming! I have wanted to spotlight the KMA for a year and a half now. Tonight will be a good time, I promise you.
Brilliant show and tell tonight with John from 2Loud2OldMusic! Iron Maiden and Def Leppard made up a large chunk of our picture disc collections that you will see by watching the live stream below. Awesome comments from hardcore collectors and show regulars. Enjoy the Buried On Mars vs. Everybody commentary on Leppard!
Thank you John for co-hosting tonight, and thank you everyone for hanging out on a Friday night. See you next Saturday!
Upcoming Schedule:
DO NOT miss next week! A special Saturday evening show replaces the usual Friday night as we chat with…
If you are reading this, then you are a part of the community! The Keeps Me Alive guys were here first! Geoff from 1001 Albums, Scott our Heavy Metal Overlord, and LeBrain all came after. I consider James and Aaron to the founders of the community. Saturday February 5 at 7:00 PM, we will sit down and chat with Aaron and (for the first time ever) James about their history with music and writing about it. This show has been a long time coming! I have wanted to spotlight the KMA for a year and a half now!
We will also have a 10 Year Anniversary of Record Store Tales and a 2 Year Anniversary of the LeBrain Train, both coming in March! If you would like to participate in either, drop us a line.
The LeBrain Train: 2000 Words or More with Mike and John
Episode 96 – Picture Discs Show & Tell
I had so much fun showing off my 7″ singles collection a few weeks ago! When brainstorming for ideas to do this week, John over at 2Loud2OldMusic suggested picture discs. Great idea! John will be joining me tonight for a guaranteed fun time, a show and tell show. I’ll be rediscovering what I own in picture disc form, since I buy so many records, I can’t remember them all. 10″, 12″, and shaped vinyl will be on deck for me tonight. As for John? I sure hope to see some Kiss and Def Leppard….
We will also be including etched discs from our collections.
If the 7″ singles show was any indication, then this will be a blast. Make sure you catch it live to participate!

Great set of lists tonight from Harrison and Marco as we dug deep on our favourite Tony Martin albums! With Thorns fresh on store shelves, and the prospect of Martin-era Sabbath reissues, it’s the perfect time to talk Tony.
We also played an old track from Slam Glory, featuring Marco’s uncle Ray D’Auria on lead vocals. Great band from the Raw M.E.A.T Vol 3 CD.
The comments were terrific once again, and thank you all for watching! See you next time!
