Yesterday the world lost David Bowie, to cancer, at age 69. While I own absolutely no Bowie in my collection (aside from covers of his music and guest appearances on Queen albums) I have always admired the man’s creativity. He goes to places I don’t even understand, and maybe that’s why I never “got” David Bowie. While recognizing his genius I was unable to penetrate beyond the singles. Perhaps I should try again.
In the meantime, plenty of folks far and wide have posted tributes to the man, his music and even his movies. Rather than pretend I know what I’m talking about, I’ll let these fine writers do it instead. Rest in Peace, David Bowie.
And fuck you, cancer.

How in the hell do you not own any Bowie! That’s the biggest surprise I’ve heard in a long time. You can’t go wrong with ANY hits collection, but if you need an album I’d suggest Ziggy Stardust.

I knew you weren’t a big fan but I’m really surprised you don’t own anything of his, even a compilation. You have pretty diverse tastes so I can see you loving a lot of his catalog. Thanks for sharing the link to my Bowie series, which remains the most fulfilling experience I’ve had since starting my blog nearly 5 years ago. I will check out your other links tomorrow when I have some free time.

Not a bad way to start a free Bowie collection. Will these become a new LeBrain feature? Anytime you realize you’re missing an artist in your library, you write a post about them bemoaning the fact that you don’t own any of their albums. Haha.

There’s always time to delve back into the catalogue Mike, I must admit I have to do some of that myself. Always meant to, you know? I’ve heard some but not all. I don’t suppose his dying is a good reason to do it, when it could have been any other day but I know his stuff is out there and I will get to it all eventually! Let me know how it goes for you!
