Long time readers know that LeBrain’s dad is a unique and hilarious individual. That’s why I have an entire category dedicated to “Shit LeBrain’s Dad Says“. One of his quirks is refusing to call things or people by their proper names. Therefore, “Lady Gaga” is “Lady Googoo” and he never called any pet we owned by their proper names. Crystal = “Gozer”. Ani = “Johnny”.
His latest name invention belongs to Jen’s surgeon, Dr. Sugimoto. It came to me as no surprise when he asked, “So what does Dr. Quasimodo think of Jen’s recovery?”
Sorry, Dr. Sugimoto, that’s just the way my dad is! It’s easier for him to remember names if he just makes them up.

Luckily it is not Fuji Hakayito.
She is better off with Dr. Sugimoto, although Dr. David Suzuki would be a cool doctor to have.

True true. I have another Sunday Chuckle about doctor names coming. He never gets our family doctor’s name right (we all use the same Dr)

She would have been stiched up with Saskatchewan sealskin bindings.

Someday I will have a post about David Suzuki.

Your dad reminds me of Don Cherry. He always gets names wrong.

So the real question is, if he ever met the doctor, would he use the proper name or his own version? Is this just at home or everywhere? :)

That is exactly what I was thinking. Good question!

Very good question. My dad does try to get names right when he’s out with the public. He would have tried to get it right but he probably would just avoid using the name if possible!

Good to know! Man I wonder what the doc would think of the name he gave him… :)

I hope to never find out!

I guess it would be strange if he used the doctor’s real name!

Yes, it would be, he would never do that in normal conversation. That is when I know he’s been replaced by:
a) an alien body snatcher
b) his mirror universe counterpart
