This video is for the one and only Buried on Mars!
Up to bat: Erica Ehm (MuchMusic)
Pitcher: Duane Ward (Toronto Blue Jays)
Catcher: Gerald McGhee (Brighton Rock)
Umpire: Greg Fraser (Brighton Rock)
In 1991 Brighton Rock released their third album Love Machine, featuring backing vocals by Duane Ward of the Toronto Blue Jays! Erica Ehm got to play ball and ask questions of all of them. Questions about:
- Duane’s “theme song” by Billy Joel
- How Brighton Rock hooked up with Ward
- What they do when they hang out
- The first video “Hollywood Shuffle”
- Life after the Jays
Let’s play ball!
That is really a cool interview. Duane Ward was an awesome pitcher for the Jays.

A bit off-topic, OK a lot off-topic, but have you seen this Vinnie Vincent parody Mike? I was busting up. Premise is if Vinnie was some dude’s Uber. LOL

I saw a funny meme. Coronavirus has cancelled more concerts than Vinnie Vincent.

I can’t tell if I got this for my love of the Blue Jays or Erica Ehm! Well, I’ll take both!
I’ve always though Ward-o was a country guy. I guess you can’t judge a man by his southern accent.

When you need to get her attention would you call her Erica *Ahem*?

I’ll tell you man, while I have never heard that line before, I betcha she has! She was a much idolized goddess in the 80s and 90s. I have videos of her wearing skimpier clothing and wow. Canadian summers, baby.

When are you going to post those? I’ve only ever heard of her since you posted that Blackie Lawless interview from 1989 with her as the conductor. She’s not big here in the States.
I did see the one where she interviewed Vince and damn, I applaud him for not staring at her magnificent cleavage in that one. Fuck! That was a skimpy shirt.

It was intended to be the Jays :)
Apparently he was a rocker! Pat Borders too — they both sang on the album.

Really? That is wild! All ballplayers now choose their “walk up music” now. Raul Mondesi recorded a Reggie album a would use his own song.

Cool find Mike! I’m not a Blue Jay fan…sorry (Go Braves!!) and I don’t really know Brighton, but the video still cool.

That was the kind of fun stuff MuchMusic used to do, I have a fun one of Slaughter hanging out in Toronto getting pizza.

Beats the normal sit down interviews.

Duane Ward – the ultimate 8th inning set-up man, hold the lead for Tom Henke to shut it down!

My mom was saying that Ward was even better than Henke before he hurt his arm.

I’m a Dodgers fan but this was pretty good. Maybe it’s my mind again but I get the impression that this is what Van Halen would sound like if Vince Neil was lead singer.

Hey that’s a good observation! I don’t disagree at all!
Funny thing — that very singer was one who was asked to audition for the Crue in 92.
