Here is the latest in a series of super-secret collaborations I have been working on! Peter Kerr invited me back onto Rock Daydream Nation to discuss Bon Jovi’s landmark breakthrough, Slippery When Wet. Did this album essentially ruin hard rock for the next four years? Peter and I took opposing views, though hardcore Bon Jovi fans will be happy with neither of us after watching this episode.
The thing I disagreed with Peter the most on was his assessment of the talents of Richie Sambora. I encourage Peter to check out some of the tracks I mentioned in this episode to appreciate the talents of the guitarist (and vocalist).
I hope we don’t get killed by mobs of angry Bon Jovi Karens for this video. Proceed with caution!

Richie Sambora is the best thing that ever happened to Bon Jovi!

AMEN to that. Peter is not a fan.

Well, we do have our opinions, but wow!

There are a lot of non-fans out there. I personally hate them now.

Eh, nothing wrong with that!

They suck now. LOL.

Oh ok, I read your previous message wrong. I thought you meant you hate the non-fans now. But, you meant you hate the band now? Cause if that’s the case, they do suck now. Jon Bon Jovi is literally digging his own grave. And the sad thing is, even if Richie were to come back, it wouldn’t be enough to save the band because of how unreliable he’s been these past few years.

Sadly true. Richie can still sing, but it is probably too late now to redeem that band. I have not even listened to their Christmas song.

Yeah, with recent clips of Jon performing this year, it’s over. I just erased the song from my mind.

Sometimes you just wish bands would stop when they cannot perform anymore.

That should be common sense. If you can’t perform anymore, call it quits. Instead of wasting everyone’s time and money.

A lot lot lot of money.
I am hearing that Kiss sound great right now, but a lot of people accuse them of using tapes. Jon Bon clearly doesn’t use tapes.

Yeah, I heard about the tape rumors. Personally, they should’ve stopped when they said they were going to stop. Instead of letting it drag for years and years. That for sure is true about Jon Bon Jovi.

I was just a kid when I discovered them.
