This no-disqualification episode was brought to you by Coffee!
First of all — Thank you to all the participants this time out, including Kevin (Buried on Mars) and Deke (Arena Rock). While these two gentleman did appear, they did not do the traditional Nigel Tufnel Top Ten lists and so they are not among the songs below. To access their “bonus tracks” you are going to have to watch the video!
Second — The MVP this week was Sarca Sim from Caught Me Gaming. Not to belittle the effort that anyone put into their lists (as you’ll see), but Sarca utilized an additional caveat: her list was 100% CanCon. A difficult, impressive and rewarding feat.
Third — You can decide for yourself if anyone deserved to be disqualified this week. Have Stavesacre or Wesley Willis ever had a legitimate hit? Is Toto a one hit wonder band? You decide.
Finally — Really, everyone was MVP this week. It was a marathon session. The feedback I have received so far has been excellent.

Sarah, I gotta tell you. I just watched Tears are Not Enough, and got tears in my eyes. For real.
Memories, and just plain awe at the talent. Thanks for picking that one!

There’s a “behind the scenes” three-parter that someone posted on YouTube you should watch that shows the artists trying to nail their parts. Neil Young…um…had a little trouble (15 takes?).

I watched it when it first ran! In fact my mom probably still has it on her VHS tapes which they still have!
I remember us watching it together as a family in the basement. My mom said “So that’s how they record a song!” It was the first time we really saw a studio and how it’s done. I was very young, the song must have just come out. 12 or 13.

I have the vinyl of it (bought a couple of years ago). Pretty sure I have the 45 too. (I should pull out those 45s from behind the couch already…)

OH SWEET! You know that’s the kinda thing I want. I’m gonna look for a copy in the future.
Another thing I remember: my mom loooooved when Geddy sang, OH, you KNOOOW that we’ll be there! She though his voice was incredible.

By the way I love your chair and I might buy myself the same chair when the pandemic is less severe and I can go into a store.

The chair I was sitting in? We got that at Canada Computers. Actually, Crappy T has a similar one in their flyer for sale this week.

I just watched Tears are not Enough. That really did bring back memories. I will watch the making of. I always look for Eugene Levy and John Candy in the back and a very young Wayne Gretzky.
Enjoyed the show. Fun, fun, fun!

So Tears are not enough is your country’s version of We are the world? Haven’t heard it before. Boy, how has the atmosphere changed in the world.

Great choices, some of my favourites being Flashback Heartattack and Echo Beach. I don’t have a list but my number one would be My Sharona, which, in my opinion, has the best guitar solo ever.

The was a blast Mike! Max was worth the price of admission alone. And the next list show needs to have Sarah sing every song mentioned.

Seconded. Sarah must always sing!
